Captain Francis Blake and Professor Philip Mortimer are characters created by Edgar P. Jacobs. They made their first appearance in the Belgian comics “Tintin magazine” in 1946. The series relates the adventures of the two friends, Professor Philip Mortimer, a renowned scientist and Captain Francis Blake, an MI5 agent.

The position of a deep-sea predator in the stars tells the inhabitants of the Torres Strait islands when to fish, plant crops and hunt turtles. The constellation of sharks consists of stars in the great bear (Ursa Major).
The artist Segar Passi, from DAUAR in Queensland, is featured in the design of this uncirculated sterling silver coin. The Australian aborigines were the first astronomers and have long used the stars as maps and calendars.

A rare trove of South African gold coins discovered in a Swiss vault has been released by the South African Mint.
While it is true that gold was evacuated from Pretoria by the then Transvaal Government during the Second Anglo-Boer War (1899–1902), no accurate account has ever been produced of its fate, spawning an urban legend of the ‘Kruger Millions’. 2022 numismatic program of Lithuania

Next year the Bank of Lithuania will issue eight euro collector coins of different denominations, three €2 commemorative coins with the Lithuanian national side. Such a decision was made by the Board of the Bank of Lithuania, which approved the plan for coin issue in 2022.

The Mint of Japan announced earlier this week the issue of its 2021 coin sets. Two proof sets, one with a medal and one without, will be complemented by an annual BU set and a special BU anniversary set.

Janko MATUSKA is a Slovak poet and writer. He is also the author of the Slovak national anthem “On the Tatras (Editor’s note: Slovak mountain range) lightning strikes”.
