Bank of Latvia annouced the launch of a new silver €5 coin, with 2020 yearmark, dedicated to personnal freedom.
On the Frosted obverse a low regular hexagonal pyramid is featured at the bottom left, with its faces covered by frosting of different intensity, black colour print, gold plating or mirror surface.
Inscriptions 5 EURO, LATVIJA and 2020 are semi-circled to the right along the upper edge of the obverse.

Royal Mint unveiled 2021 gold sovereigns

The Royal Mint launched its collection of gold sovereigns with yearmark 2021, celebrating the Queen’s 95th birthday.
The edge of the coin is rimed with 95 striations, a change from the edge normally used on Elizabeth II’s gold sovereign. The 95 striations represent the Queen’s 95th birthday, one striation for each year.
The 2021 gold sovereign will also carry a privy mark, a Royal Crown with the number 95 inserted in the crown.

This coin depicts Leda and the swan, an outstanding mosaic dating to the 2nd century A.D., which decorated the floor of a Roman house found at Palaipafos.
Specifically, the coin depicts the moment when Leda, the beautiful sythical queen of Sparta, had a first encounter with god Zeus who had transformed himself into a swan in order to approach her.
