The Central Bank of Latvia will issue in 2018 a new €2 commemorative coin dedicated to Zemgale Region.
The drawing represents the coat of arms of the Zemgale region. The name of the issuing country “LATVIJA” is indicated in the upper part of the coin and the inscription “ZEMGALE” appears in the lower part. The year of issuance, 2018, is engraved on the right of the coin.

2019 new €100 and €200 euro banknotes – EUROPA series

The unveiling of €100 and €200 new banknotes did happen september 17th 2018, many information were revealed on the last two denominations of the ES2 banknotes series or “Europe type” series. They willl be put into circulation on 28 May 2019. The second series of euro banknotes is called “Europa” because the notes contain a portrait of Europa, a figure from Greek mythology. It adds a human touch to the notes and, of course, is the origin of the name of our continent.

New 2018 €10 slovak commemorative coin dedicated to Steamer CAROLINA

The coin’s obverse design portrays technical parts of the Carolina, which in 1818 became the first steamboat to sail to Bratislava on the Danube.
Slovakia’s coat of arms is situated on the left side, below the name of the issuing country ‘SLOVENSKO’. The year of issuance ‘2018’ is shown at the bottom of the coin. In the upper right of the design are the mint mark of the Kremnica Mint (consisting of the letters ‘MK’ between two dies) and the stylised letters ‘ZF’, the initials of the coin’s designer Zbyněk Fojtů.

The Reserve Bank of South Africa (SARB) has launched its first series of commemorative banknotes, july 13th 2018, in celebration of the centenary of the birth of the first democratically elected President, Nelson Mandela. These banknotes have a face value of R10, R20, R50, R100 and R200. As part of the celebrations, the South African Mint, a subsidiary of SARB, will also issue a new R5 circulation commemorative coin.
