Do you see something strange in your change? For National Coin Week, the U.S. Mint is mixing things up and launching a limited amount of America the Beautiful quarters with the “W” mint mark into circulation – a first for the U.S. Mint in 227 years of minting coins. The Belgian Mint celebrates the 100 days before the start of the 2019 Tour de France in BRUSSELS city. It issues a commemorative coin, specially minted in honour of the “Grand Départ” in Brussels and the 100th anniversary of the Yellow shirt. It is presented in a coin card with sporty lines, in BU condition.

A top rarity irish coin: a 1985 20 pence valued at €6000!

A rare 1985 Irish 20p coin is for sale during the next White House Auction House.
Only 500 of this trial coin were issued in 1985 and it’s believed less than 50 were not returned to the Central Bank when the euro replaced the Irish pound in 2002.
Ten of the remaining coins have been recorded since the euro change-over but the remainders are still unaccounted for and could be lying around in dark corners of Irish homes. The hunt is still open!

The Royal Mint has announced that the life of one of the world’s most well-known physicists, the late Stephen Hawking, is to be celebrated on a 50p coin. The scientist – and his ground-breaking achievements – will be honoured on a 50p piece featuring a design influenced by Hawking’s pioneering work on black holes.
