Italy struck a €20 dedicated to the baroque architect half Suiss and italian Francesco BORROMINI (1599-1667). It is known to have carried out many masterpieces like the helicoid stairway of palace BARBERINI in Rome. As many newspapers in the general press were able to report, India experienced a monetary earthquake at the end of 2016 since the Indian Prime Minister declared the immediate demonetization of  R500 and R1000 banknotes  and their replacement by two new R500 and R2000 banknotes.

The Belgian Mint (MRB), or at least its workshop, will close down on January 1st, 2018. It is not known yet if there will remain some administrative services of the Mint. For sure it will be necessary to order the future minting programs to external subcontrators.
