This year Latvijas Banka plans to issue as part of 2019 latvian numismatic program five collector coins dedicated to outstanding personalities in Latvia’s culture, the history and nature of Latvia:
– A coin dedicated to the fairy tale “Cat’s Mill” by Kārlis Skalbe.
– A coin commemorating creative work of Niklāvs Strunke.
– Coin “Gifts of the Forest” dedicated to Latvia’s nature.
– A coin dedicated to the fights for Latvia’s independence.

FINLAND circulation coins mintages from 1999 to 2018

Finland has provided the circulation coins mintages for 2018.
For 5cents to €1 coins, these are the smallest mintages since euro changeover.
The 1 and 2 cent coins have not been struck for circulation since 2005. They are only struck for sets for collectors since these sets contain all the coins that are legal tender in Finland.
However, even if they are no longer produced for circulation, the 1 and 2 cent coins are still legal tender in Finland.

2019 €5 italian coin – FORZA VESPA!

After the Fiat 500, another Italian vehicle adorns a silver commemorative coin: the Vespa. The Italian Mint (ZECCA) is dedicating collection coins to the 70th anniversary of the Vespa. The Vespa coin is available in three versions because the two-wheel drive is enamelled in red (7,000 units), white (7,000 units) and green (3,000 units), the colours of italian flag.

During the BERLIN World Money Fair 2019, NUMISMAG was able to meet the representative of the Vatican’s Numismatic and Philatelic Office and to discuss with him the various coins issues planned for 2019 in Vatican State.

The very first Zero Euro Souvenir Banknote designed for Turkey is available now. It is a limited edition of only 5000 banknotes printed by Oberthur printingworks, in France. the banknote bears some unique details such as the turned ‘8’ seen on the banknote’s yearmark, 1938, year of KEMAL death. Swiss Mint opens 2019 with three new commemorative coins

On 24 January 2019, the Federal Mint Swissmint will launch three new commemorative coins for coin collectors, enthusiasts and fans. Swissmint is honouring the 100th anniversary of the Swiss national circus Knie by issuing its first coloured coin, which is available for purchase only in proof quality.

Working with local historians and officers of the Bathurst, New Brunswick-headquartered North Shore Regiment, the Royal Canadian Mint has solved the mystery of the identity of the soldier whose face is dramatically portrayed on its 2019 Proof Silver Dollar commemorating the 75th Anniversary of D-Day.
