
2021 lithuanian €5 and €1.5 coin Sea Festival

Bank of Lithuania announced the issuance of a €5 and a €1.5 euro coin dedicated to Sea Festival.
On the last weekend of July the sea is traditionally saluted, as the major Sea Festival takes place in Klaipėda offering hundreds of events. It is an extremely cheerful weekend in summer that attracts people to the sea, also known as the Summer Christmas.
The goal of the festival is to promote seafaring by entertaining people.
Concerts, performances and plays are staged in the city during the Sea Festival.
On the obverse of the coin is the symbol of Vytis and the coat of arms of Klaipėda city, as if embossed in the sand on the seashore, as if the inscription “Lithuania” was carved in the sand, the denomination “1,50 €”, the year “2021”, the logo of UAB Lithuanian Mint.
The reverse of the coin is the symbols of the Sea Festival and Klaipėda, which create a festive mood, as if the vortex is engaging in a sea of entertainment and sensations. Above, the inscription “Sea Festival”.
€1.5 copper nickel coin
In the middle of the silver coin – for the first time, the symbol of the Baltic Sea was used in the issuance of coins of the Bank of Lithuania – a piece of amber.
At the edge – stylized sea waves and seagulls.
€5 silver coin
Pre-distribution will start on july 14th 2021 and Release will start on july 21th 2021.
