2022 gold €50 coin celebrating 100 years of Lithuanian State

The Bank of Lithuania is issuing a collector coin dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Lithuanian State Constitution on 6 September. The designer of the coin is Egidijus Rapolis. The mintage is 3 000 coins. They were minted by UAB “Lietuvos monetų mint” (Lithuanian Mint). The reverse of the new coin – in the language of symbols – represents the democratic foundations of state-building laid down in the Constitution of the State of Lithuania. In the centre of the obverse is engraved the knight Vytis, a stylised symbol of the coat of arms of the Republic of Lithuania.
About the anniversary
2022 marks the 100th anniversary of the adoption of the Constitution of the State of Lithuania on 1 August 1922 by the Constituent Seimas. This is the first democratic and modern Constitution of the Republic of Lithuania.
In addition, this year marks the 30th anniversary of the Constitution of the Republic of Lithuania adopted by the citizens of the Republic of Lithuania in a referendum on 25 October 1992.
Official presentation of the gold coin
The new coin will be presented by Gediminas Šimkus, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Bank of Lithuania, and Danutė Jočienė, President of the Constitutional Court. The Constitution will be briefly presented by Dr Saulius Kaubrys.
