The Central Bank of Lithuania puts on sale (reservation) from tomorrow. it is dedicated to the struggle of the Ukrainian people in the war between the country and Russia. The obverse of the coin dedicated to the Ukrainian struggle for freedom features an image of embroidered and stylized symbols of the coat of arms of the Republic of Lithuania, the Vytis, and Ukraine, the Trident (Tryzub). The author of the piece, Ukrainian artist Svitlana Matvieienko, uses conventional Ukrainian motifs in the artistic composition as an allusion to linen, used throughout the cycle of human life, from birth to death.
The reverse of the coin depicts arms that symbolically encompass all that constitutes a state, a nation that fights for tradition, history, present and future. The stylized outline of the Ukrainian state is filled with details of ethnographic fabric ornaments.
