2021 Japan Mint Medals – “Cherry Blossoms”

To commemorate the 2021 Cherry Blossom Viewing, Japan Mint releases gold, silver, and red brass medals. Designs of the three medals are common. obverse shows a nymph watching over Yokihi cherry blossoms as they open, while reverse depicts the Blossom of the Year, “Yokihi.”

Especially, on the reverse of the Gold medal, the character “桜 (Sakura)” is treated with the frosting finish p rocessing technique. In addition, on the reverse sides of the Silver and Red Brass medals, the Blossom of the Year, “Yokihi,” are printed in color.
